Unit Name: OHS for Mineral Mining and Impact assessment [E]

Description: This course is designed to provide students with the working knowledge of idea and an integral part of skills development and is designed to inform people about the mining and minerals sector. It emphasises the opportunities available to people who consider pursuing a career in the sector. It provides information regarding career choices, the fields of study and learning paths to follow in order to achieve a relevant qualification in this very important sector. Mining is an ancient occupation, long recognized as being arduous and liable to injuries and diseases. The lifecycle of mining consists of exploration, mine development, mine operation, decommissioning and land rehabilitation. It is a multi-disciplinary industry, drawing on several professions and trades.
