Unit Name: Bandsmanship 2

Description: This course contains three components: Ensemble Performance Practice, Conducting, and Arranging. Ensemble Performance Practice further trains students in the craft of ensemble collaboration, performance technique, and listening skills to develop confident musicians that perform with understanding and expression. Conducting develops intermediate conducting and ensemble leadership. This component develops conducting technique at an intermediate level and hand symbols with focus on ensemble rehearsal technique. Arranging develops intermediate skills in writing music for brass instruments and full military brass band. This component further explores the various characteristics of each instrument of the band and the application of intermediate orchestration techniques.
