Unit Name: Preliminary Mathematics I

Description: The course revisits and consolidates various concepts learnt up to Year 11 level.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand the following: 1. Discover the different ways of buying and benefits of early repayment. 2. Simplification of Algebraic expressions and application of Remainder and Factor Theorems. 3. Finding Domain and Range of functions and sketching graphs. 4. Analyse the various types of sequences and writing a series in Sigma Notation. 5. Apply Pythagoras Theorems, solving problems involving trigonometric ratios and proving identities.

Prerequisite: Year 11 Mathematics

Prerequisite Sentence: Year 11 Pass
