Unit Name: Material Science

Description: This course is provided for teacher candidates aspiring to be competent in the delivery of quality education to Secondary Schools with benchmarking to current global practices and standards. The course will enable the students to acquire knowledge and skills relating to the theoretical and practical components of Engineering Material Science. It is designed to consolidate and enhance previously acquired Engineering and applied technology competencies and assist students to develop new skills which will enable them as future teachers to impart Technological skills to Fiji Secondary level children. The course emphasizes applied studio practice and project work with a view to the acquisition of skills related to teaching of material science and resource utilization with a view of sustainability of all engineering materials.??
