Unit Name: Research Project

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the nature of the problem to be studied and identify the related area of knowledge, and with skills in conducting a research project and an understanding of the ethical issues associated with conducting research. Students will develop skills to collect, analyse and synthesise research findings.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: • Carry out an intensive literature review to address the research question. • Provide information on the findings of the Literature Review. • Carry out data collection and communicate progress • Analyse results using appropriate data analysis • Provide a final Research report for examination • Demonstrate knowledge by way of an oral presentation of the research project
