Unit Name: Human Anatomy and Physiology I

Description: This course will introduce students to an overview of body tissues and homeostasis and then takes a classical approach to relate the structures and functions of the musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to : 1. Define and correctly use anatomical and physiological terms. 2. Describe the general anatomy and physiology of cells and basic body tissues. 3. Describe the location, principal structural features, interrelationships with other structures, and functions of each component organ of the musculoskeletal system. 4. Explain the location, principal structural features, interrelationships with other structures, and functions of each component organ of the circulatory system. 5. Describe the location, principal structural features, interrelationships with other structures, and functions of each component organ of the respiratory system. 6. Describe how the above systems interact with each other and the rest of the body to maintain homeostasis
