Unit Name: Advanced Project Management

Description: The purpose of this course is to empower students with core project management training that maximizes project management capabilities, and provides the necessary skills to manage projects in a dynamic business environment. Students will develop the ability to manage all aspects of a major project – including project initiation, planning, execution and termination. This course includes projects in contemporary organizations; strategic management and project selection; the unique role of the project manager; negotiation and management of conflict; the project in the organizational structure; project activity planning; budgeting and cost estimation; scheduling; resource allocation; monitoring and information systems; project control; project auditing; and project termination.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Plan projects in contemporary organizations, analyze project selection, and explain the unique role of the project manager 2. Formulate and undertake project negotiation and devise strategies to mitigate project conflict 3. Distinguish that a project is part of the organizational structure; and develop project activity planning, budgeting and cost estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation 4. analyze the project control purpose, processes and systems 5. plan how to audit and terminate projects

Prerequisite: Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Management and any level 8 course, or equivalent .
