Unit Name: Business Strategies for Entrepreneurs

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of business strategies for entrepreneurs, and help students to develop and systematically apply an entrepreneurial way of thinking, that will allow them to create and or identify opportunities that may be commercialized successfully.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. analyze and develop a framework for entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process. 2. develop opportunity recognition, shaping and reshaping knowledge and skills to enable enhanced business performance. 3. explain the environment required for entrepreneurship, and formulate business models, entrepreneurial strategy, business planning process and entrepreneurial marketing. 4. plan how to raise money, secure investors and debt, and other forms of financing, for starting and growing businesses. 5. plan how to create an entrepreneurial organization, and develop intrapreneurship and corporate venturing.
