Unit Name: Sports Journalism

Description: This course trains students in the nature, elements, process and practice of sports writing for the media. It examines the role of sport in society, its different manifestations and its representations in the media. Students will gain an understanding of the vocabulary and linguistic aspects of sports writing, and will appreciate its links with social institutions. The course will also overview research into celebrity studies.
