Unit Name: Introduction to Geodetic and GPS Surveying

Description: To introduce to students high accuracy type of survey including Minor Triangulation and its adjustments.

Learning Target Outcomes: As a result of completing this unit, the student will be able to: 1. Understand the concepts in geodesy and Projection 2. Carry out the calculation on the Fiji Geodetic Datum(Parameters) 3. Understand the different coordinate systems and their relationship 4. Determine the appropriate accuracy for the job at hand 5. Undertake GPS surveys 6. Determine where & when to undertake conventional survey methods or GPS surveys
