Unit Name: CAD for Surveyors

Description: To enable students to use specialized Land Surveying software for computations and draw survey plans as per the requirements of the survey regulations.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon completion of this unit, students should be able to: 1. Transfer field data, and adjust and plot survey data on CAD. 2. Undertake draughting on Survey Plan Forms. 3. Carry out calculations by using coordinates. 4. Apply corrections to all measured distances and bearings or angles. 5. Analyse data and determine scale to fit paper size. 6. Basic understanding of the FMG coordinate system. 7. Calculate areas from survey data or from plans and maps. 8. Undertake volume calculations.
