Unit Name: Automatic & Continuously Variable Transmission Service Workshop

Description: This course offers the students an understanding of the concept of Automatic Transmission Service. Also enable students to acquire an in-depth knowledge of Automatic Transmission components service and troubleshooting. This course offers the student the chance to utilize the theory aspect into practical implication of the concept of Automatic Transmission Service and system related with electrical/electronic components, Automatic transmission Fluid (ATF) Cycle and their operating principles. It will further enlighten on the importance of performing tasks according to the repair manual due to its constructional design with more types of Automatic Transmission in the advanced automobile technology.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Carry out, fault diagnosis, service and repair on Automatic Transmission: Torque converters. 2. Perform to rectify the fault diagnosis, service and repair on Automatic Transmission. 3. Practice and carry out fault diagnosis, service and repair of Automatic Transmission, Hydraulics and Controls Systems. 4. Perform, fault diagnosis, service and repair of Four – Wheel drive transmission. 5. Carry out fault diagnosis, service and repair of continuously variable transmission.
