Unit Code: HRM802

Unit Name: People and Industrial Relations

Description: Human resource management is about management of people within the employer-employee relationship. It is about using these resources productively to achieve the business objectives of the organization and satisfying employees? individual needs. Therefore, because it is about integration of both the organization?s and the employees? interests, human resource management is much more than the administration and co-ordination of activities relevant to the organization?s human resources. The new sources of sustainable advantage available to organizations have been people at the center ? their creativity and talent, their inspirations and hope, their dreams and excitement. The companies that flourish in this decade will do so because they are able to provide meaning and purpose, a context and frame that encourages individual potential to flourish and grow.
