Unit Name: Strategic Human Resources Management & Development

Description: This Course is a comprehensive approach to study the major function of Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Human Resource Development (HRD). The teaching on SHRM will focus on specific activities starting from human resource goals, work design ,employee resourcing, planning, job analysis to reward strategy. While, the HRD topics will cover training to teach various skills needed to perform different tasks. Development is concerned with general development of the employees to achieve professional excellence, positive leadership styles, self-care etc. so as to enable them shoulder higher responsibilities and move up in the organizational ladder.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1.2.1. Analyze the importance of strategic HRM ,strategic direction and short and long term strategic goals. 1.2.2. Design of work, job description ,job analysis and job rotation. 1.2.3. Evaluate the process of human resource planning, recruitment, selection and placement. 1.2.4. Analyze employee training and development initiatives 1.2.5. Evaluate the use of performance management and key performances indicator (KPI), job appraisal. 1.2.6. Design strategies for employee turnover and retention
