Unit Name: Health Challenges for the 21st Century

Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce the concept of health, its components and dimensions, discuss global health challenges, including communicable and non-communicable diseases (HIV/AIDS, dengue, diabetes and Covid-19 pandemic). The course will also provide understanding on public health interventions including health promotion strategies, climate change adaptation strategies as well as equipping & improving the health workforce. Course assessment activities will include online quizzes, reflective writings and an assignment submitted at the end of this course.
