Unit Name: Housekeeping Control

Description: 1. specify the various activities of hotels and resorts in all categories and other boarding house service providers; (2) perform at lower to middle level in the hospitality sector; (3) undertake tasks relating to housekeeping operations; (4) demonstrate their understanding of how domestic laws have a bearing on the operations of the Hotels and Guest houses; (5) perform the functions of a guestroom attendant, be a team player and serve as housekeeping supervisors.

Learning Target Outcomes: 1) List and describe the Elements of Cost Control Systems. Apply the basic operational skills and knowledge that are to be undertaken in the Accommodation Operations and ccommodation control. 2) Identify and calculate elements of cost and related to areas which are most vulnerable to wastage. 3) Calculate the necessary occupancy and gross profit percentages compare the cost of sales with the given data. 4) List the basic nature of purchasing procedures as well as purchasing of goods for the accommodation and housekeeping department.
