Unit Name: Introduction to Hindi Literary Studies

Description: This course will offer students the opportunity to enquire about Hindi Literature, its scope, its functions and its critical role by studying and reviewing literary texts from the genres of poetry, short stories, drama, fiction and non-fiction. The thrust of this course will be to develop critical and theoretical understanding and skills of interpretative analysis. Students will examine and critique texts using basic theories underlying literary creation to enhance their own literary perspectives and will be able to show appreciation on the aesthetics of Hindi literary works. Hindi literary texts will include biographies,auto-biographies,diaries, reports as well as contemporary literature.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: A pass in Form 7/Year 13 exam with a minimum total of 200 marks or equivalent. Recognition would be given to mature aged students who do not meet the 13 years of continous progression but who have relevant work experience
