Unit Name: Hairdressing Science, Products and Shampooing Services

Description: The purpose of this unit is to provide a foundation for those specializing in working in a Salon. Furthermore it will equip you with the skills and knowledge to work efficiently in the industy as a qualified hairdresser.The Unit offers the basics in hair physiology and the usage of salon products which includes the need to understand the hair growth cycle and the anatomy of the head & neck in relation to styling hair. In addition to understand the process of Keratinization and to advise and recommend hair products to clients and to understand the effects of chemicals on the hair shaft.

Prerequisite Sentence: Certificate II in Hairdressing, 2-3 years industry experience or 50% English pass (year 11)
