Unit Name: Human Biology 2

Description: This course is designed to provide students with knowledge of Human Physiology and human anatomy of digestive, reproductive, endocrine, renal, nervous systems that is required for all health professionals, and serve as foundations for other basic sciences and all clinical sciences are based. For Dietetics students, knowledge of human physiology and anatomy helps them to understand the normal organ systems’ structure and functions. You will have weekly lectures and tutorials in Physiology and anatomy.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to : 1. Describe normal structure and physiology of the respiratory system. 2. Discuss the structure and function of the digestive tract and its accessory glands. 3. Explain the structure and function of the renal system and its physiological characteristics. 4. Describe the general function of the endocrine system, the structure and function, physiological characteristics and regulation of the specific endocrinal glands. 5. Explain the structure, function, physiological characteristics and regulation of the male and female reproductive system. 6. Discuss the structure of neuron and its physiological characteristics; general overview nervous system and its structure and functions.
