Unit Name: Human biology
Description: The purpose of this course is to provide students with knowledge of human physiology and human anatomy that is required for all health professionals, and serve as foundations for other basic sciences and all clinical sciences related to the program. For medical lab-science students, knowledge of human physiology and anatomy helps them to understand the normal organ systems’ structure and functions.
Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Discuss anatomy and physiology of different cells and tissue structures of the body. 2. Discuss the musculoskeletal system. 3. Explain blood components, vascular and heart structure. 4. Discuss normal structure and physiology of the respiratory and digestive systems. 5. Differentiate renal, endocrine and nervous systems. 6. Differentiate between the male and female reproductive systems.
