Unit Name: Rural and Agriculture Geography

Description: Agricultural Geography is an important component of rural geography. This unit provides an understanding of the nature of rural areas, the importance of different agricultural practices in rural areas, and how human society has addressed problems resulting from agricultural revolutions. It will also focus on theoretical applications of agricultural geography to countries where agriculture is the main income source. Students will be able to examine social and economic planning for agricultural expansion from the different perspectives of rural and urban geographers, and will consider the challenges of agricultural development and how they can be addressed.
