Unit Name: Biogeography

Description: Biogeography examines the biosphere from a geographic perspective. It considers the evolution of plant and animal communities and biomes. The biosphere includes all life forms that exist on earth. This is an integrative course which examines concepts and knowledge from physical geography, geology, ecology and evolutionary biology. This course includes: the origin and dispersal of plants and animals, biotic communities, ecological relationships, and the impact of human activity on the biosphere. It also includes skills in weather map interpretation and map projections.
