Unit Name: Foundation Geography I

Description: This Foundation Geography-I course is a study of spatial variation-of how and why things differ from place to place. The study of natural environments attempts to develop an understanding of it and how it affects and is affected by people. Students will study topics in the following areas: what geography is and its fields, the solar system, global energy, the atmosphere, hydrology, climate and vegetation, the earth building and denudation processes, the types of landforms and rocks, the coastal environments, other examples of natural environments, soils and biodiversity. Through these topics students will appreciate and value the importance of the natural environment in sustaining the living and non-living organisms on earth.
