Unit Name: Basic Computer Assisted Graphic Design

Description: The Certificate IV in Graphic Arts has been specifically designed to prepare graduates for employment in Graphic Design Firms, Printing Companies, Signage Businesses and Advertising Agencies, Banking Institutions and In-house graphic design sections/departments within large corporate companies who may want to control their security information before release to the general public. The programme in Graphic Design originally started in 1996 and the demand has continued to grow very rapidly. The Certificate IV in Graphic Arts programme is non- examinable as it is designed to train students above the basics of traditional graphic design to provide them with the necessary knowledge that will enable them to become entrepreneurs in their field. More people are becoming aware of the importance of a ?good design? and are eager to learn the techniques and method of achieving this. The use of computers as a good tool for design is one catalyst to the booming demand for students to undertake studies in Graphic Design. The inclusion of this programme in Creative Arts has enriched the range of programmes the school offers to school leavers, employers and the general public with creative abilities to explore the opportunities of acquiring a variety of skills in graphic design.
