Unit Name: Screen Printing

Description: The Screen-printing course guides student designers in fundamental design skills used in the process of screen-printing fabric. Learners will be able to Set up a screen print station best suited for production, make a Screen-printing frame, stretching mesh and transfer emulsion-based media or solution onto a screen printing frame. Even more fabric Layout design principles, spatial cognitions in pattern making plus placement of logos, typography and local artwork design prints is demonstrated and practiced. Further-more the program coach leaners in computer assisted graphic arts and design applications best suited for fabric textile print production or for concept presentation purposes. The course emphasis applied studio practice plus project work with a view to the attainment of flexible basic screen printing fabric textile designing skills.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: Successful completion of studies up to Fiji?s Sixth Form, (12 years of continuous progression), or on the basis of maturity above the age limit of 21 years with 1 year work experience in a creative design industry, or prior learning based on a personal original drawing assessment portfolio reviewed to meet the benchmark pertaining to this unit
