Unit Name: Drawing

Description: The Drawing course introduces arts students to basic skills in sketching and fine art illustration. Drawing is an essential part of the exchange of ideas a commercial artist conducts with him or herself. The program develops designing arts students to express ideas through thumbnail sketching as a mental tool to facilitate information in external representation such as logo creation, fabric designing, fashion illustration, screen printing, portraiture, body art as well as interior design space planning and decorating. The course emphasis applied studio practice and project work with a view to the attainment of drawing and sketching skills.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: Successful completion of studies up to Fiji?s Sixth Form, (12 years of continuous progression), OR on the basis of maturity above the age limit of 21yrs with 1 year work experience in a creative design industry, or prior learning based on a personal original drawing assessment portfolio reviewed to meet the benchmark pertaining to this unit
