Unit Name: FTV Basics of Cinematography

Description: This course deals with the introduction of the basic technology involved in camera for recording motion pictures in film or video format. This course will inform students about the importance of daylight and artificial lights, incident light, reflected light. The lens and perspective. Perspective effects. F-stops. Depth of field. Basics and application of camera techniques in Film & TV Production. Ethics Governance and Communication and to perform basic business skills the safety of workers in the workplace and the correct use of work equipment?s for general safety.

Learning Target Outcomes:

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: Successful completion of Sixth Form or equivalence (12 years of continuous progression) or equivalent. Applicants may also be admitted to Certificate IV in Film & Television program who may not meet the 12 years of continuous progression requirement, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in programs at these levels on the basis of maturity, work experience, or prior learning.
