Description: The purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of social forestry, community forestry - benefits, principles, processes, farm forestry; extension forestry, principles, characteristics, merits & demerits, methods; basic principles of community forestry its phases including initiation phase ? creating awareness, selection of progressive parties, register these parties, Organizing a community meeting; application phase ?Developing project benefits and cost sharing, Socio-economic survey and need assessment, Forest management by-laws at all levels, Negotiating and drafting a community forest agreement, Applying a community forest declaration; Implementation and monitoring ?Forest resource inventory & need assessment, Integrated forest management planning, , updating the plan, strengthening community forest management & organizational capacity.
