Unit Name: Post- Harvest Technology of Tropical Foods

Description: This unit aims to enhance the knowledge on various aspects relevant to use of appropriate postharvest processing and handling of local fruits and vegetables which are a vital part of modern agricultural production system. Postharvest processes include various integrated functions of harvesting, cleaning, grading, packaging, storing, transportation and marketing. Postharvest technology bridges the time and distance gap between producer and consumers. Postharvest handling also involves practical application of engineering principles and knowledge of fruit and vegetable physiology to solve various problem concern.
