Unit Name: Environmental Health in Practice 1: Risk and Impact Management

Description: This course builds competencies in application of methodologies for assessing and managing environmental health risks and impacts and inform good decisions about how to intervene. Students will explore risk and impact assessment assessment techniques and intervention strategies to prevent, mitigate adapt to environmental hazard and exposures. Emphasis is on practical approaches and regulatory frameworks to protect environmental public health and ensure environmental sustainability.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Discuss Evidence-based EH Risk and Impact assessement for informed decision-making. 2. Develop EH Risk and Impact Assessment tools. 3. Model Risk and Impact to support decisions for EH Practice. 4. Practicum: Develop EH Risk and Impact Assessment Tools (including ethics consideration). 5. Experiential Learning: Apply the tools to assess EH Risk and Impact, propose and communicate solutions.
