Unit Name: Water Quality Management
Description: This course is designed to equip students with the skills to play an Environmental Health Practitioner part in ensuring that your country is water secure. You will learn about water resouces and supplies that humans use. You will be skilled to ensure that these waters are available, accessible, and of good quality for the purpose it is used - and what this means for water security. You will also be skilled to ensure the protection of water resources and supplies though measures such as sanitation and conservation.
Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Describe what is Water Quality Management and how this supports Water Security 2. Describe Water Use in terms of water types, availability, access, quality and protection 3. Discuss Health-related Quality of Water 4. Explain how Availability of, and Access to water is achieved 5. Explain Protection of Water Resources and Supply including Sanitation 6. Practicum: Analyze and interpret water quality against standards and guidelines.
