Unit Name: Fundamentals of Ethical Practices

Description: This is a mandatory course for students studying for a certificate programme. This course is an introduction to many stimulating and interesting ideas, relevant to life decisions. It also enhances the capacity for critical judgment and practical decision-making in a variety of personal, workplace and applied contexts.

Learning Target Outcomes: 1. Identify and articulate ethical concerns regarding matters of right and wrong, in everyday situations and provide examples of ethical challenges they encounter in their everyday lives. 2. Enhance awareness and critically examine the importance of law, governance, morality and religion. 3. Systematically checks the analysis for issues and controversies in selected areas of study such as trade, teaching, agriculture etc. 4. Demonstrates an understanding of the system of moral reasoning that helps improve ethical decision-making and moral behaviour. 5. Appreciate the development of ethical standards in an organization and judge the responsibility of a business to the general public and society.
