Unit Name: Economic Entomology

Description: Systematic position, distribution, life cycle, symptoms of damage and management of insect pests of cereal crops such as rice, wheat and maize, sugarcane, duruka, pulses, groundnut, ginger, brinjal, potato, tomato, chillies, okra, cruciferous and cucurbitaceous vegetables, sweet potato, taro, cassava, moringa, coriander, amaranthus, curry leaf, mango, citrus, banana, coconut, tobacco, pepper, ginger and ornamental plants. Coleopteran and Lepidopteron pests of stored grains, their biology and damage, preventive and curative management methods.
