Unit Name: Introduction to Environmental Science (Compulsory)

Description: This course aims to introduce environmental science as a discipline and define Sustainability: a complex and contested concept. A holistic and interdisciplinary approach is needed to understand both local, as well as global environmental issues. The course will initially introduce the fundamentals and processes that are important to environmental Science. With the basic understanding offered within the Field of Environmental Science, this unit will serve as a prerequisite for most papers required in Environmental Science major. Furthermore, Environmental education provides an individual with the ability to bring about development in a sustainable manner. As such, environmental science graduates have ample employment opportunities in both the Governmental and non-Governmental Sectors.
