Unit Name: Internet Technology
Description: The purpose of this course is to presents the Internet from a dynamic workplace perspective. Reflects on how emerging technologies will empower society to do more with the Internet. Covers core Internet technologies. This course covers an overview of the DSL family, what ADSL is through to how ADSL work. It will focus on Wireless and Mobile Broadband Internet from technology, regulation and business aspects. This course is also intended to assist the students in understanding the basics of fixed and wireless broadband networking technologies. Cost models for broadband access and Quality of Service (QoS). Also, the course provides students with a detailed understanding of digital network design and switching. It focuses on network design and switching systems used in telecommunication and service provider networks.
