Unit Name: Computer System

Description: This course is designed to provide a more detailed understanding of the operation of computer systems, with particular emphasis on the role and use of system software. The course is also designed to develop basic skills in computer programming, using a structured high level language, C++. In the delivery of this course, emphasis will be placed on integrating the theoretical and practical aspects of computing. In particular, this will involve the extensive hands-on use of computer facilities, for program composition and execution.
