Unit Name: Motor Installation and Control
Description: This course will provide students with introductory knowledge of the operations and control of electrical motors. The overall objective is to understand the general types of motors and ways to install, wire and control motors.
Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Complete tasks on installing single-phase and 3 phase motors with protection features. 2. Report on the basic structure of motors and relate to the fundamentals of torque, angular speed and power. 3. Explain and wire DOL starters, and Star Delta starters. 4. Explain and wire three phase Forward- Reverse controls. 5. Explain and relate to the principles of motor control using timers and switches
