Unit Name: Power Electronics for Trade

Description: This course provides an introduction intended for level 3 in electrical power electronics with its application to electrical engineering, especially in the control and monitoring of electrically powered devices.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Relate and understand power electronic components. 2. Correctly select and apply electronic components feature for controlling purposes. 3. Correctly relate to appropriate electronic components using AS/NZS international standards. 4. Understand and apply the features of electronic sensors and actuators. 5. Correctly select and use appropriate cables and wires in control circuits
