Unit Name: Developing E-Portfolios

Description: This course synthesizes what teachers have learned in EDU 744, EDU 745, and EDU 746 to develop a progressive portfolio of their teaching in a live semester (‘on the job’) and a professional development plan. An e-Portfolio is the primary tool for the development of the teaching portfolio that will enable teachers to demonstrate their scholarly learning and professional practice, and beyond the GCTT programme. Foundational concepts in e-Portfolio creation, management, assessment and professional development will preface this course.

Learning Target Outcomes:

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1.2.1 Examine e-Portfolios as a digital literacy tool for education and career development.

1.2.2 Identify and explain areas where e-Portfolios better reflect performance.

1.2.3 Apply theory and pedagogy to develop a progressive teaching portfolio.

1.2.4 Utilise e-Portfolios as a tool for assessment.

1.2.5 Describe e-Portfolios and their role as an ongoing process of professional development.
