Unit Name: Music & Movement in ECE

Description: The course focuses on developing students? understanding and appreciation of the place of music in young children?s development. It promotes their capacity to provide related experiences and competence in providing a variety of enriching music abilities in young children. It includes a personal and professional development strand. Music, Movement and Dance need to be central to an early childhood curriculum. Young children communicate in many ways, but especially through the music. Through the music they communicate their ideas, their thinking, and their emotions, and they develop creativity.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: The student must have passed Form 7 with 50% in English and Maths or mature age entry with experience in early childhood education.
