Unit Name: Na Noda Mataniciva

Description: Early childhood education is a new and exciting field of study for those who are interested in young children. This course offers an in-depth study into the early childhood curriculum guideline which sets out the vision, beliefs and values underpinning early childhood education in Fiji and the broader perspective of early childhood care and education. It examines and extends students understanding of how young children learn the value of play and other ways young children learn in both the local and global context. The course is integrated into the campus playgroup, which will be operated by students, in collaboration with families from the community on a weekly basis.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: The student must have passed Form 7 with 50% in English and Maths or mature age entry with experience in early childhood education as well as competence in one of Fijian, Urdu, Hindi or Rotuman up to Form 2 (Class 8) level.
