Unit Name: Fundamentals of Human Development & Educational Psychology

Description: The unit aims to engage the pre-service teachers to examine and apply concepts related to the contents on various aspects of human growth and development, and to the concepts of education psychology in relation to teaching-learning situations in secondary schools. The main aspects will be on general principles of human growth and development, theories of growth and development of children and adolescents. In addition to this the educational learning theories will be closely studied in the context of Fiji secondary schools. The concept of children with special needs will also be covered in the course.
