Unit Name: Early Language and Literacy

Description: This course offers students an in-depth study of early language and literacy that promote young children?s home language and literacy in all areas of their programme. They will also develop competency in providing experiences and resources that build on experiences which promote approaches that are meaningful, developmental and culturally relevant in the context of their communities.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: The student must have passed Form 7 with 50% in English and Maths or mature age entry with experience in early childhood education as well as competence in one of Fijian, Urdu, Hindi or Rotuman up to Form 2 (Class 8) level.
