Unit Name: Advanced Microeconomics

Description: This course introduces students to advanced microeconomics ? both in the theoretical and applied areas. The main areas covered are the mathematics of optimization, consumer theory, choice under uncertainty, production theory, behaviour of firms in different market situations, and the limits of the markets to optimally and efficiently allocate resources and goods. Not all the listed topics may be covered comprehensively and students are expected to read the textbook and additional readings that may be prescribed during the course.
