Unit Name: Introduction to Macroeconomics

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide introductory knowledge on macroeconomics analyses in the national economy and linking policies with the rest of the world. Emphasis is placed on basic principles involved in the determination of national output, the aggregate price level, money supply, exchange rates, fiscal and monetary policies. It further provides a broad understanding of economic growth and its implications for the economy. The course will also provide you with information on various economic policies used to ensure smooth functioning of the economy and sheds light on important macro variables such as savings, poverty, unemployment, inflation and trade.

Prerequisite: The student must have passed Foundation Economics I & II or Year 13 External Examination or consent from HOD.

Prerequisite Sentence: Foundation Economics I,II or Year 13 pass or consent from HOD
