Unit Name: Practical Attachment

Description: This course is designed to provide students with a series of hands-on practical activities organized and determined by the Discipline in collaboration with Field Supervisors from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MOH-MS). It will provides valuable opportunity for students to practice in the work environment. The practical activities will cover all three areas of the discipline. The course will involve most experimental learning to students.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to : 1. Practise the roles and functions of the Dietitian functions in the community, clinical and food service settings. 2. Apply the nutrition care process to manage diet and nutrition related problems in a population an ethical and professional manner. 3. Demonstrate team work to manage nutrition related problems. 4. Demonstrate leadership skills to manage institutional food service unit. 5. Apply counseling skills for behaviour change in an ethical and professional manner. 6. Compile reports and documents that are essential components of the workplace reporting system. 7. Design intervention materials, programmes or models to reducing or solving nutritional issues. 8. Develop project proposal for any programmes or events.
