Unit Code: DNU505
Unit Name: Human Biology II for Dietetic
Description: The purpose of this course is to provide students with knowledge of the human body systems. You will develop an understanding of anatomy and physiology including the organisational levels of the human body and anatomical terminology used. You will explain the role and features of homeostasis in the body and gain an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of systems involved in fluds and transport as well as energy, maintenance and environmental exchange.
Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1: Describe the major anatomical features of the cells, tissues, and organs of the digestive, cardiovascular, urinary, respiratory, immune and reproductive systems. 2: Describe the function and physiological regulation of the cells, tissues, and organs of the digestive, cardiovascular, urinary, respiratory, immune and reproductive systems. 3: Discuss the application of human anatomy and physiology relevant to nutrition and dietetic practice. 4: Discuss the interactions between structure and function in each of the human body systems
