Unit Name: Maritime Administration
Description: This course covers the Maritime Administration which is deemed necessary to obtain the depth of knowledge required under various competences of section A-II/1 & AII/2 of the STCW code for a watchkeeping officer on ships of 500gt or more.
Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this unit, the student is expected to: • Apply the regulatory framework within which a vessel operates. • Generate compliance with statutory requirements. • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Master\\\'s responsibilities under a range of marine contracts. • Demonstrate compliance with the procedures and requirements for entering and clearing a foreign port. • Apply to the management of the vessel\\\'s hygiene. • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Fiji Maritime Transport Act.
