Description: This course provides the students with a foundation knowledge of shipboard operations and cargo operation.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this unit DNS 487, the student is expected to: • Determine basic principles of cargo stowing, securing ,inspection of cargo hold • Demonstrate the types of refrigerated cargo& handling of dangerous cargoes • Specify tanker piping and pumping arrangements & precautions before entering enclosed or contaminated spaces • Interpret the purpose of MARPOL and its Annexes.
