Description: DME445 a course is a combination of Marine, Mathematics, Applied Mechanics and Thermodynamics. These three non core subjects are mandatory for a Marine Engineer to make calculations, understand Mechanics and Thermodynamics associate with marine machinery.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this unit DME445, the student is expected to: • Perform basic mathematical calculations • Demonstrate understanding of a range of mathematical topics and concepts • Discuss the fundamental laws and principles of thermodynamics and heat transfer • Apply these principles to real thermo-fluid systems • Understand basic theory and principles of forces in mechanics in marine machinery • Describe motion, forces, and work related to marine machinery
